As a student employee of UNCW who works in this field, I can tell you that the University is indeed very friendly towards the military. In the past few years the administration has gone above and beyond to invite more military students to the university and to make transferring and enrolling at UNCW as easy as possible. UNCW now has an extension education program up in Camp Lejeune as well as distance education courses for further convenience. I think most of the professors who were hostile towards the military are either long gone or dead. If there are still any of them around, trust me, they are easy to spot and avoid.
