The athletic directors of old would have only had to ask a few people in the community and this problem would have gone away. It is obvious to me that the school board wants their hands into and on everything.
Good old fun raising is one option. So many things in the past have been done with donations so that the athletes could have what they needed.
I know we are talking about public schools, but please tell me what is wrong with a Pig-Pickin or a car wash maybe even a raffle. In my opinion the School Board (Public) and Community (Private) need and have to come together in this day and time for our athletes to have what they need.
Who is suppose to do that? I think it starts at the school/coach. UNCW has things today because of Coach Brooks asking the Great People of this community to donate anything they could! Just Like Coach Brogden and Coach Hardee and lets not forget Coach Jap Davis!!!!
The "Old Timers Would Have Fixed The Problem" long ago!
