Whichever list you go to, there are several other breeds more likely to bite; chows, dacshunds, cocker spaniels, huskies...remember, too, that the infant who was recently almost castrated and required hours of reconstructive surgery was attacked by a husky.
I doubt that this infant in Jacksonville was truly attacked. The dog was probably bored and simply regarded the baby's foot as a tasty chew-toy. (I recently had a friend's pit bull eat one of my flip-flops when he was bored.)
It's not hard to find pit bulls that are big, lovable babies who won't hurt a fly.
No, blame rests solely on the parents. They should never have let a neighbor's dog access to that baby....and pardon my cynicism but medication? Likely SELF-medication!
