Is that the way you really thought about your father? That he should have been "put down"? That he created "undo hardships on the rest of us, driving up the cost of healthcare"? That he was a "burden"?
Your last sentence says, "...by the end of those last two years his modest fortune was in the hands of the doctors and not his family". This makes you sound like a greedy, insensitive child who couldn't wait for his father to kick the bucket before your inheritance was wasted away. It's sad how money seems to bring out the worst in people.
