My son had flu like symptoms about 3 hours after I picked him up Friday (9-25-09) evening. When I asked him where he wanted to ride this out, he said my house, I really had no other choice as I wanted him comfortable. He had a fever for about 10 hours and it broke Saturday morning. I sent him home Sunday with a strict caution about staying home on Monday. Tuesday afternoon, I got a scratchy throat and left work immediately and went to my doctor. He said that H1N1 has been a mild strain of the flu and not to worry and it's the only flu running around Wilmington right now. My fever lasted about 4 hours. Wednesday (today), I stayed at home all day and feel much better. No stopped up head, no gastrointestinal stuff. I am going to stay home until next Monday. I've heard that I was contagious 4 days prior to the symptoms. Either try to get the shot next week or deal with it as no doubt it is here. Yesterday, my son's Mother went to work knowing she had it and they sent her home. Today, she was down at Little River on the Casino Boat! No doubt there are going to be some low class people who could care less whether you get it or not!
