Re: Jason misses the mark!!!

Jason Thompson is worried about funding??? Worried about what the school board is bringing to the table. REALLY!!! Admission is paid for these games and those lacrosse parents do pay something called taxes and they do vote. Last time I checked Legion Stadium was home of the Wildcats, not home of the Hammerheads. We are the only school that has to request permission or receive a blessing from the Legion commission to use this field. Per the Legion By-laws the #1 use of the field is for NHHS sports and everyone is second. The lacrosse parents have been trying to fight this batter for over a year now. We are also the only school that has had to circulate a petition and fight for what the student athletes are entitled to. The lacrosse parents have received the support of Hoggard Lax parents, Ashley Lax parents and Laney Lax parents. It seems that the Legion stadium commission is our biggest roadblock! Whoever signed the contracts with Hammerheads should be fired, especially if those contracts push New Hanover Athletics out of the way? Since Jason thinks that improving the pa system and throwing some bleachers down (which will disappear during the Azalea Festival as they do each year) is acceptable-my question to him is when can we expect the Hammerheads to start playing on that field???? On a side note it is not the school board that allowed lacrosse to become a varsity sport. Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, high school lacrosse (women's and men's) is a sanctioned sport by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association!!
