A social services investigation into the guardianship of a Tabor City teen with ties to RC Soles is now officially closed. As a result of questions raised by WWAY early last month, the Columbus County Department of Social Services began an investigation into whether 17-year-old Allen Strickland is a victim of neglect. Thursday we received word that the DSS found no evidence the teen has been neglected. Strickland has been in and out of jail recently for arson, leading police on a high speed chase, and violating house arrest. Prior to his run-in's with the law, Strickland had been living on his own in a house paid for by Senator Soles. According to North Carolina law, a child is supposed to have supervision until age 18. The actual status of his legal guardianship remains unclear.
