Kids at Cape Fear Elementary learned how to stop, drop and roll Tuesday. New Hanover County and Long Creek Fire Rescue took the day to educate third graders on fire safety. Students ran through fire escape simulations and had the chance to play with fire hoses. They also practiced escaping through windows and doors safely. “You should never actually light a match or use a lighter unsupervised, when you are young at least," said 3rd grader Lucas Fucili. The fire safety demo was part of Fire Prevention Week.
