From handmade maracas, to colorful sombreros, kids at Bradley Creek Elementary celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month Thursday. They have been learning about different countries, and their traditions.
Kids gathered for a celebration parade this afternoon. A third of the students from Bradley Creek are of Hispanic origin, so this event is a way for classmates to learn about each other.
"I studied Nicaragua, and I learned that they eat a lot of tamales, rice, beans and corn," said student Itha Beautista.
The celebration will continue Friday, when students will try different foods from all the countries, and learn native song and dance.
