You don't think that Hewett having his employees do personal work on his home and working on his political campaign, all while being paid by the County is wrong? You don't think him instructing his employees to lie to investigators is wrong?
This is someone who is supposed to be the top law enforcement officer in the county, and he is breaking the law himself, all for his own benefit.
One of the things Hewett was accused of, and I'm assuming was a part of his plea deal, was instructing one of his detectives not to investigate a sexual assault, because the suspect was a cousin of his and he was worried it would make him look bad. If true, this is an absolute dereliction of duty, not to mention a serious felony. What about the victim of the sexual assault? They will never receive justice because the sheriff is covering it up. Hewett seemed to be more concerned about his name and being re-elected than he is about enforcing the law and protecting the citizens.
