A suspected Pender County murderer is on the run. Now authorities need your help finding him. Forty-nine-year-old Ronnie Eugene Peddie is wanted for murder and first degree burglary after he allegedly broke in to Harry Lee Tate's home Saturday evening, shot Tate in the chest, and killed him. Family members say they believe the dispute began two years ago over a mail truck Tate sold to Peddie. Authorities say when they went to Peddie's home to put him under arrest, he was gone. "Right now, we don't know where he is,” said Pender County Sheriff Carson Smith. “We've got everybody that's here pretty much that's priority number one for us today, however long it takes to catch him." Jimmy Tate, the victim’s cousin said, "I will be very glad when he's caught and apprehended and I'm very confident that will happen very, very soon." Peddie is believed to be driving a blue and primer gray 1986 Isuzu pick-up truck with North Carolina tag YTJ- 3840. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pender County Sheriff's Office at 259-1212.
