October is over, but it went out with a bang at one church. The Holy Cross Episcopal Church hosted an Oktoberfest and Craft Fair on Saturday, the last day of the month. The event featured music, dancing and plenty of food as well as more than thirty vendors selling a variety of home made crafts. Organizers said events like this are a great way to bring the community together “We wanted to have a chance to get to know our neighbors, and we thought with a beautiful fall day this would be the perfect way to do it,” said event organizer Linda Lashley. “We want everyone to be here, we have everything from apple strudel to yorkies available and we wanted to get to know everyone, it was a good way to do it.” Of course, no event taking place on Halloween would be complete without a children's costume contest. Prizes were awarded to those who dressed up and came to the festival.
