Wrong on so many levels. The Cape Fear River is hardly close to the airport in tri terms. And a closed circuit? We're talking about 1500 bikes and rules that prohibit drafting. (Just to give you an idea... some shorter triathlons have up to 2000 bikes on a 12 mile course... yes TWELVE MILES...and that is dicey from a safety standpoint.) And then what's left to run on? If anyone was dumb enough to actually adopt your idea, thousands of potential November tourists would take their racing...and their money... out of Wilmington. One day a year people... get over yourselves!
