Regardless which side of the issue you are on, I guess he gave you something to like since "he voted for it before he voted against it".
Less than 20 minutes before the final vote against it, McIntyre voted against the motion to recommit, which would have sent the bill back to committee to be worked on further.
Wouldn't you think if he was against the bill for whatever reason he states, he would have voted FOR sending it back to committee? Without the "moderate democrats" votes to release it to the floor, it can't pass.
This was simply a vote to keep his seat in Congress.
McIntyre was for it before he was against it
