The Cucalorus Film Festival is one of Wilmington’s biggest success stories. I remember its humble beginnings a little over a decade ago as a festival for local film makers, and watched it grow over the years into an international film festival. I wasn’t associated with the festival, just one of the many who attended year after year and loved the experience. I even planned vacation time around my job so that I could attend Cucalorus events. I moved away from Wilmington 7 years ago, but I am so happy to hear that Cucalorus is still alive, well, and thriving. If you have never been to Cucalorus, do yourself a favor and go. Just go.
