It seems to me that most people are missing the whole problem here. If everyone with a pet was responsible enough to spay and neuter them then the method of euthanazia would not enter into play. Also, people with pets should not use the shelters as a place to dump their pets because they can not face putting them down when they are old and sick. I have had have many animals euthanized because of age or terminal illness and as much as it hurts I know there last minutes on earth were spent in the arms of someone who loved them not in a strange place.
