Homecoming for Wake Forest center as they beat UNCW Wednesday night

READ MORE: Homecoming for Wake Forest center as they beat UNCW Wednesday night
It was homecoming for one Demon Deacon Wednesday night. Former New Hanover Wildcat Ty Walker returned to Wilmington. “It's very nice to come home. I got some hectic boos, some cheers, it's all part of the experience,” said the Wake Forest center. “I know most people booing want me to transfer, but its alright.” He did not get much playing time, missing his only field goal in two minutes of play. While he is still trying to become a regular in Coach Guadio's rotation, he continues to work hard. “I’ve just been working as hard as I can. Weights, academics with summer school, and just basketball skills overall,” said Walker. “I've been killing myself each and everyday on and off the basketball court. Hopefully it will pay off my junior and senior year.” Coach Gaudio said Walker deserved his playing time tonight and believes he will be a big time player for the Deacons. “He's a Wilmington kid. He's worked hard for us, and I'm telling you my words are going to be prophetic, that kid's going to be a terrific player for us.” Dino Gaudio said. Wake Forest begins ACC play this weekend. The Deacons face NC State. UNCW takes on another ACC foe, traveling to Virginia Saturday.
