Paying more at the pump for holiday travel

If you are planning to hit the road to get to your Christmas vacation you will be spending more at the pump than last year. People were filling up their tanks for the holiday travel Wednesday. This year the average price for a gallon of gas is about $2.50 in the Port City. Last year at this time, gas was only $1.66 per gallon. "Actually, it does surprise me a little," said holiday driver Cindy Jarrett. "I feel like I was paying more than that. But that's good, I think that's really good. It needs to be lower." AAA expects almost 80 million people to travel by car for the holiday weekend. That is a 4 percent increase from last year, despite the higher gas prices.
