I went out for the the first time this past weekend since the smoking ban went into effect and I can tell you this...It was a much more pleasant experience and the bars that have always had crowds, continued to have crowds. The downside, was the horrible scene on the sidewalk, I mean, I don't understand why smokers not only think they have the right to smoke where ever they want, but also have the right to discard the butts wherever...It is littering people and yet, no one enforces it!!! Most restaurants don't allow you to bring in outside food, such as, you don't carry McDonalds into Port City Chop House, but if you saw 50 people out front eating McDonalds and throwing the bags on the ground just before walking in, someone would be complaining....I wish the police would actively enforce littering and help clean up downtown from the inside, out!!!!! If your bar offers something other than just a place to drink and smoke, people will still come. If that is all you had to begin with, then, thanks for playing and good luck!!!
