Pender beat Perquimans 58-49 Thursday night in East Regional 1-A high school basketball.
The Patriots won despite shooting 27.6% from the floor and 19 turnovers. 74% free throw shooting saved Pender as they made 16 of their 35 attempts. Paxton Lee led Pender in scoring with 20 points. Pender will play Goldsboro in the 1-A Boys East Finals on Saturday in Greenville at 11am.

East Bladen beat Bunn 61-30 Thursday in East Regional 2-A high school basketball. The Eagles were dominant. They'll face Cummings in Greenville at 11am on Saturday in the 2-A Girls Finals.

New Hanover will play Terry Sanford in 4-A boys action on Friday at 7pm in Greenville. The winning team plays again on Saturday at 5pm.
