Alrite, we can't know for sure what happened that night. Only God, Caleb, & Mr. Ricky Carroll can know that. But, I do know that where they were at when it happened and where Caleb said they were parked, & with the big trucks both men had, there was NO POSSIBLE way for Caleb to leave, theres one way in Tory Hole and One way out.
I know Caleb, he's my cousin, and I just can't see him doing that unless it was his last option. And Something that I don't think was mentioned in this article is the fact that Caleb had a brain tumor earlier in his life... A blow to his head could have killed him! It was self defense.
And About the Gun in His Truck, Caleb is a hunter! In Bladen County, if its near huntin' season, chances are, you're gonna have a gun and ammo in your vehicle.
I knew Mr. Ricky too, I'm not biased, but I know that Mr. Ricky did have a temper sometimes, but he was a good man. I feel so sorry for The whole Carroll family, & my heart goes out to them. Caleb and Cristan had been going out for a fairly long time... Wouldn't you be upset if you had been given the cold shoulder by your ex? And Mr. Ricky must have been upset with Caleb... Idk what really happened there, but I do know that we must pray for both parties involved.
