on that one. Many of our Naval vessels are of that age or older. It's challenging to imagine she can wield her "vast influence" to garner $12,000,000 for the construction of a new ship.
Consider, too, the construction of a new vessel would most likely be out of state and thus all jobs assoicated with the construction would be to the benefit of Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana or some other state with ship boatyard facilities.
But I could be wrong. Perhaps one of those NC based companies which construct pleasure craft could undertake the job with CFCC students working on the project as well. Seems to me there's a facility just across the river from Wilmington and slightly up river from the USS North Carolina.
Good Luck
