Brunswick Sheriff opens Leland substation

The Brunswick Country Sheriff's Office officially opened a new north end substation this morning. The substation is located next to the Port City Java in Brunswick Forest.

People who live in the area can go to the station to report crimes and process paperwork like gun permit applications without having to drive to Bolivia.

Sheriff John Ingram was pleased with the turnout.

"I think it was a huge success," Ingram said. "I am blown away by the support we have from the community. I think it says a lot about how the community is proud of the Sheriffs Office."

The north end substation will function with a lieutenant of administrative services, two detectives, a civil division clerk, administrative clerk and a volunteer that assists in administrative duties.
