Irish spirit kicks off Friday night with a traditional Irish feile (fay-la) benefiting the Megan Foundation. It's from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Thomas Preservation Hall in downtown Wilmington. There will be Irish food, drink, and entertainment. You can buy the $35 tickets at the door.

If you're ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, you need to be in downtown Wilmington Saturday.
Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with the St. Patrick's Day parade. It starts at Red Cross Street, then winds its way along 2nd Street to Dock, then comes back up Water Street.

Then at noon, the Guinness St. Patrick's Day festival begins at Riverfront Park. It's free.
There's music, Irish dancers, food, and beer sales.

Just across town, another St. Patty's Day fest. This one's at Racine Commons Shopping Center.
The whole parking lot will be transformed. The entry fee is $5.

From seeing green to pink and blue, Saturday is the Cape Fear Maternity and Baby Expo.
It's from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington.
Admission is $5. Kids twelve and under, free.

Speaking of pride and joy, more than 200 classic cars invade the beach Saturday. Sun Coast Cruisers is holding its "Back to the Beach 2010" car show at Fort Fisher Military Recreation Center. It's from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is free.

Ladies, this event is all about you. Saturday, it's the fourth annual Women's Expo in Surf City, featuring everything from clothes and jewelry to spa treatments and makeup. It's from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Surf City Community Center. Admission is $3.

Vietnam Veterans will get some much earned recognition this weekend, during a day set aside to remember their sacrifice. Saturday is "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" at Ogden Park.
Opening ceremonies start at 11 a.m.

The group, Surfers Healing is holding an Autism Fundraiser Sunday. It's from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Grand Union Pub in Wilmington. It features raffles, a silent auction and entertainment.
Admission is free.
