I have no idea what senators have to do with his vote. Beside that, the Seventeenth Amendment made senators slaves to the public polls just as much as congressman are. They no longer represent the interest of the states as originally intended.

Reading McIntyre's e-mail, it is obvious that he (and most of his constituents with an IQ above a good hat size) believe that he DID vote what's best for the country, and for the right reasons.
