FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Most of the civilian employees at Army Forces Command in Atlanta say they plant to move to North Carolina as part of base realignment.

The Fayetteville Observer reported Saturday that 90 percent of the Fort McPherson, Ga., civilian work force officially said they plan to make the move to Fort Bragg.

Deputy chief of staff for Forces Command Brig. Gen. Rick Porter said most of the civilians who aren't making the move are eligible to retire.

Forces Command is coming to North Carolina as part of the last round of federal base closing legislation approved in 2005. As part of the move, Forces Command and the Army's Reserve Command will share a new headquarters building now under construction at Fort Bragg.
