Twelve Gardens Showcased at Festival

Its one of the longest and most beautiful traditions of the Azalea Festival; the garden tour. This year's certainly didn't disappoint.

In its fifty-seventh year, the tour is almost as old as the festival itself. This year's tour featured twelve gardens across the city from downtown to the Intracoastal Waterway.

As always, Azalea Belles help to decorate the garden and serve as hostesses and greet the visitors as they stroll through the flowers.

“It’s gone very well. We've had a lot of nice people come around,” says Azalea Belle Elle Howe. “You see a lot of smiles, and a lot of little girls coming up to tell you how pretty your dress is. So, it’s been a lot of fun.”

The event is recognized as one of the longest running and most popular garden tours in the south. Some proceeds from the event help to fund beautification efforts throughout the city.
