Southport, NC -- The NC 4th of July Festival has a new look for 2010. The Festival under the direction of Don Parker, 2010 President, has been working on updating and redesigning its logo and website for over six months.

The new festival logo includes the words North Carolina 4th of July above the State of North Carolina and Festival below the state which is covered by brilliant firework burst and thirteen stars including the largest star placed strategically on the map at Southport.

“The former logo served the Festival well for many, many years. However, we felt it was time to update the logo to better reflect the multi-faceted nature of the North Carolina 4th of July Festival. First, we wanted to underscore the fact that this is THE North Carolina 4th of July Festival and, as such, serves as the State’s premiere destination for this summer holiday. Secondly, we wanted to capture the Festival excitement in a single brand that signals celebration, patriotism, and holiday fun. I believe the new logo indeed refreshes our Festival image and enhances the product,” said Parker.

The festival website plays an important part of disseminating information about the events and logistics to festival attendees. The new design of www.nc4thofjuly.com is user friendly and is much simpler when searching for information about a particular festival event. Major events have their own page under the Events & Calendar section. This design affords more educational opportunities as links to supporting documents could be added. Links like the one on the Naturalization Ceremony page, where you can read the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States, and Bill of Rights or you can take a sample naturalization test.

The new design also has a section devoted to traffic patterns. This information is offered as a way to assist attendees with planning their exit and entry into the city during peak events such as the Parade and Fireworks.

The former logo will be archived and used on special occasions. Rachel Spence, Designatorim, designed the festival’s new logo. The Festival’s website was redesigned by Bryan Woodard, USC Web Design & Video and most of the pictures for the site were donated by John Muuss Photographic Artist.
