READ MORE: Family asks for help solving Christmas weekend murder

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) -- The Pender County Sheriff's Office is asking for the your help in a Christmas weekend murder. There's a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Tiffany Dawkins.

On December 27, Dawkins's body was found on the side of Highway 133 in Rocky Point around the corner from Cape Fear Middle School. Dawkins's family is hoping the reward will encourage someone with information to step forward.

"Seeing multiple bullets in my sister, and thinking about her running down the road and seeing her on the side of the road when you see a duffle bag, it's a hard thing to think about and it makes you so angry," Dawkins's sister Brittany Hockabout said.

Sheriff's detectives believe they know who is responsible for the murder, but they are waiting on DNA results. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (910) 259-1354.

"I just wish they would come forward so me and my family can have peace and know what happened to my sister that night," Dawkins's sister Michelle Ikner.
