I assume what they mean by public funds is taxpayer money?? If so, then this group supports government takeover of private land on the basis of conservation. I fail to make the connection between this and economic growth. There needs to be a balance concerning environmental protection, and it cannot be achieved solely by "preserving" tracts of land in the hope that everything will be cleaner as a result.
