WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- In this week's Kitchen Cops report, a Brunswick County restaurant that is no stranger to the low performers list, and two restaurants made a good impression.
Nesbitt's Jackass Saloon in Calabash lost three points because sour cream in the cooler was out of date. Another point off because rat droppings were found in the cabinet and drawers of the wait station. Raw chicken was stored above pepperoni. Chicken wings were being thawed in a colander in water that was too warm. And there was no thermometer to check food temperatures. A score of 86.5 for Nesbitt's Jackass Saloon.
This week's top score belongs to Village Market and Deli in Southport. Zero violations and a perfect 100.
And down the coast to Calabash, where Bella Pizza & Deli lost a half point to clean the floors under all the equipment and a score of 99.5.
