What do you expect from a State Trooper...they would arrest their own mother for jay walking.
As far as giving other LEO breaks, I don't see a problem with it...to an extent. I don't think they should give other LEO breaks when it comes to DWI, but minor traffic violations I do. It's not different than your employer giving you a discount just because you work there.
