Laney wins first ever baseball state championship

The Laney Bucs lost the opening game of the State Championship series on Friday night, but wound up winning two games on Saturday to bring home the title.

After winning game two earlier on Saturday, the Bucs looked poised to win the deciding game going away. The Bucs held a 5-1 lead in game three, only to see East Forsyth force extra innings.

In the top of the eighth, Caleb Wells hit a solo homerun for Laney, and after Ryan LaGrange kept the Eagles off the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame, the Bucs celebrated their first ever baseball state championship.
