Our state government added 16,100 new positions since her Majesty's inauguration. Public sector jobs only benefit the job holder. They are funded by public money -- which is another way of saying tax dollars.
Want long term solutions? Let the legislature enact some friendlier business tax provisions which will encourage private business growth. And I am not talking give away tax incentives which reward selected business entities for bringing jobs to a specific location.
Those listed as being off "unemployment" may not have found work; they may be out of benefits.
Let's not forget the impact of those temporary census positions. They will soon end.
