Brunswick Co. man attacked with machete

ASH, NC - Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested a subject for an incident that occurred in the Ash area over the weekend.

On Friday, June 25th at approximately 8:00 pm, deputies responded to 3364 Ace Ford Drive in reference to an assault. Upon arrival deputies obtained information on victim, Bersain Hernandez that he had been stabbed by a person at the residence. After thorough investigation, deputies obtained information that Jose Barron had stabbed Hernandez with a machete.

Barron was taken into custody on scene and transported to the Brunswick County Detention Facility. Detective Mike Murray charged Barron with one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, receiving a $500.00 secured bond.
Hernandez was transported by EMS but did not suffer serious bodily injury.
