Our country was built on a foundation of faith, family and freedom. And it is these core beliefs, along with the selfless courage and sacrifice of many, that has made our country a place that millions of Americans are grateful to be a part of and millions more wish to come to.
God has been honored in the Pledge of Allegiance, the Declaration of Independence, the Star Spangled Banner, the Gettysburg Address and on every single dollar bill. And so it should be. God has always been, and should always be a part of our country.
Although our country has seen some very difficult times, we have always been able to successfully meet the challenges we have faced as one people, one nation, under God. And what has always brought Americans together; what has given us the courage and strength to meet the challenges of tough times is: Faith. Faith in God, faith in each[color=#0000FF] other and faith in the values that built this great country.
But if we want our children to inherit a nation that is, what it has always been, “the home of the brave and land of the free”, then we must as parents stand up for those beliefs and values, and we must teach our children to do the same.
God belongs in the Pledge of Allegiance, for without faith America becomes just another place to live. Our country deserves better than that. Our children deserve better than that. And perhaps most of all, God, who has blessed this great nation so much, deserves better than that.
