Kid's Beach Sweep at Wrightsville Beach

On Saturday, July 17th, children representing the Cape Fear region will be collecting litter at Wrightsville Beach. The beach clean-up will take place during the 6th Annual REEF SWEETWATER PROAM SURF FEST to raise awareness of the ongoing littering issue on Wrightsville Beach. Litter collected will be placed in buckets that the children usually play with in the sand.

We plan to meet at Latimer St. to begin the clean-up from access 30 to Mercer's Pier. We are tentatively aiming for a 10:30 am meeting time so we make it to the beach during the busiest time. Bring the kids in light blue
t-shirts and descent size sand buckets. If you don't have a kid, or feel that you are just a "big kid" with a concern for the pollution on our beach, wear your light blue top and bring a bucket!

Be prepared for a fun and rewarding day at the beach.
