Sounds like you've never been in law enforcement. I've worked with this sheriff's deptartment. While traffic stops are not the primary duty of deputies, every deputy knows that when it's late ant night, the call volume is low and it's too late to serve papers, that's the optimum time to stop suspicious vehicles because it bears fruit - more often than not the driver has a suspended license, or no insurance, false tags, an outstanding warrant, or driving drunk, or there are drugs in the vehicle.
I recommend you make sure your brain is loaded before you shoot off your mouth.
