who leads by example. There could be more such programs for all sports; Wilmington and New Hanover County are full of former college and professional players who could chip in a few hours or days if the opportunity were created.
But, the city and county would rather fund convention centers and highways to nowhere.
Just think what a few thousand city dollars could do to provide some structure, facility, and basic necessities like water to promote such initiatives.
On another note, think what could be contributed by origanizations which focus on putting a dog in the fight or marching once a year to remember some incident which took place over 100 years ago.
