I too ALMOST got caught up in this scam. I responded to an ad for a delivery person with a pay of $14.00 per hour. Once I showed up for the interview process, I found out it was for vacuum cleaner sales. After wasting 3 days in training, when it came time to sign their contract, I had questions regarding requirements stated that had not been explained. The EXTREMELY smooth talking owner of the company who had promised the moon became very angry and told me if I didn't trust his company to do the right thing I could put down my training materials and his contract and leave. That's just what I did. And boy am I glad I did, especially after seeing your news story and reading these comments! My hope is that others will see this story and these comments and not fall prey to these unethical and immoral people.
