It's already reported the $500,000,000 in Meicaid payments, which the Legislature and she used in developing the current budget, has been reduced to $300,000,000. Guess they have to address that shortfall sooner rather than later.
Now this. What happens if she fails to bring home the "pork" as she has failed to deliver to date?
And is this the only solution she & the state can come up with to address the problems in schools which have repeated problems in helping students succeed? Throw more borrowed money at it and hope that fixes the problem? It has not worked in the past; why think it will work now?
Hold parents accountable for their youngster's behavior. Throw the unruly element out of school; send them to county juvenile center facility schools if they can not behave and allow those who are there for an education to get one.
Put teachers & administrators on a performance based compensation program. Your students succeed; advance; and make progress in school -- you get rewarded. Make the business of education a business with rewards for those who deliver and other career opportunities for those who can not.
