A New Hanover County restaurant is back open for business after health inspectors shut it down last month. Szechuan Buffet at 6932-B Market Street in Ogden fixed the problems that earned it a score of 53.5. That means the restaurant gets its permit back, but can expect another inspection in the next couple of weeks. Four New Hanover County eateries reached perfection this week, with three getting extra points. A health inspector said Zooi Euro Bistro in the Forum "looks great!" A score of 100, plus two points for workers passing a food safety course. The same score of 102 goes to the folks at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Mayfaire. Carolina Sunset at 409 Lewis Road in Carolina Beach also exceeding perfection and received a 102. And an inspector said Andy's Cheesesteaks in the 6300 block of Carolina Beach Road was "unbelievably clean and well run" as it earned a perfect 100. This week's lowest score belongs to Dockside Restaurant on Airlie Road in Wilmington. A health inspector counted off because all ice machines need cleaning. Employees were also thawing seafood under 79-degree running water, when it should be less than 70 degrees. The seafood cooler was not working, but has been fixed. Dry foods need to be stored properly and labeled accordingly. And all employees who prepare, handle and serve food must wear effective hair restraints. An 83.5 for Dockside. To the Pizza Hut at 7316 N. Market St. Five points off for soiled multi-use container and a dirty prep sink and ice machine. There were flies in the dish area and workers need to wash their hands when they're changing jobs. Pizza hut on North Market scores an 85. The Juggling Gypsy on Castle Street needs to clean the cutting board and meat slicer and not store dirty dishes as clean. And they need to find a way to get rid of roaches, like the ones in the dry storage cabinet and the paper towel dispenser. An 86.5 for Juggling Gypsy To Wrightsville Beach and South Beach Grill, where an inspector counted off for a prep cooler that was too warm and plates, bowls, pans, utensils and other items were dirty. Pans and plates were stored wet. Foods were stored improperly, including raw meats with cooked meats and equipment, floors and trash cans need cleaning. An 87 for South Beach Grill. Two re-inspections this week. Starting at Nikki's Hibachi Steakhouse on Military Cutoff, which earned an 82.5 last month. A few days later a big improvement to 100.5. Valino's on Carolina Beach Road remains a low performer while trying to improve from an 81.5 last month. Violations this time include trash bags used for food storage and a problem with flies. An 85 for Valino's.
