WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- It was all hands on deck at the battleship North Carolina when a very special visitor came aboard to tour the ship - North Carolina's Lieutenant Governor.
Walter Dalton went on a guided tour of the Navy ship docked in the Cape Fear River. Dalton got to see the parts of the ship that are on the public tour path and even got to check out some parts of the ship that are off the tour path.
He heard little known facts about the ship straight from the battleship's director, Terry Bragg. Dalton says the tour was inspiring to him.
"Captain Terry Bragg gave us a personal tour and he is so enthusiastic about what is being done here and has every right to be enthusiastic," Dalton said. "They have some renovations going on that will be very unique and will provide overnight camping for our boy scouts and girl scouts and give them the opportunity to understand and be a part of history in a way."
Dalton says Terry Bragg's last name fits perfectly because when it comes to the battleship - he's got a whole lot to brag about!
