WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police say a major heroin supplier is off the streets after an early-morning drug bust. Investigators say the arrest of 50-year-old Arthur Curtis King of Wilmington is the conclusion of a six-month investigation by WPD's vice unit.

Police say the drugs represent WPD's largest seizure of heroin in recent memory. The heroin is packaged for distribution in 12,000 individual doses, with an estimated street value of $240,000.

King was identified in the investigation as the key distributor responsible for supplying up to 90 percent of the heroin sold in the city of Wilmington. King is in jail under $1.5 million secured bond.
