On October 24, 2010 at 5:30 PM in St. Mary Church, Wilmington, NC, performing artists will join together to achieve a common goal of peace through music.
Participating artists and groups include: Suzuki Talent Education of Wilmington, the Tallis Chamber Orchestra, B'Nai Israel Kavanotes, the Wilmington Celebration Choir, Julia Walker Jewell, St. Mary Liturgical Dancers and the GLOW Dance Troupe.
The concert is being organized by Sister Cities Association of Wilmington as one of three activities it is undertaking as part of its mission to promote peace. SCAW chose Daniel Pearl World Music Days inviting its sister cities in Asia, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe to join Wilmington by planning their own performances in sending a message of peace through music.
The winners of the Harmony for Humanities literary contest for high school and college students will be recognized during the concert by Star News publisher, Bob Gruber.
