I've been following UNCW for more than 8 years only as an outsider. The information I get about the university is mainly from the media. As a citizen of Wilmington, my concern about UNCW is more on the quality of education/academics as opposite to the accomplishment in the athletic fields (maybe because my teenager kids may someday pursue their education at UNCW). My impression so far is that UNCW have been making a lot of progress academically and I think the role of Chancellor DePaolo was very critical. Congratulations to Dr. DePaolo for a job well done!
Lets hope that the new Chancellor will be the right person to continue the progress.
