FEMA sets up shop in Brunswick County

READ MORE: FEMA sets up shop in Brunswick County

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- The recent record rainfall has also brought state and federal help to our area. Flood victims can now get help at the FEMA Disaster Center in Brunswick County. That's at the Brunswick County Government Complex in Building G.

It's a one-stop shop of sorts. People can see where everything stands - from checking the status of an application to getting assistance with the SBA loan paperwork. Officials say people should not hesitate to apply for help.

"A lot of times people will try to determine whether or not they should apply," said Emily Young of the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management. "First if you have insurance then contact your insurance company then contact FEMA. If you receive and SBA loan application package, complete it and return it."

Statewide - more than 1500 people have come in to disaster centers for help.
