READ MORE: Update: Alfy Hill leaves East Carolina in order to play junior college football

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) -- "I'm going to East Carolina."

That's what Alfy Hill told WWAY back in late August. The very next day he enrolled at ECU. His stay at East Carolina lasted two months.

"It just didn't work out," said Jimmy Fletcher, who coached Hill at West Brunswick High School.

In case you forgot, ECU was never Hill's first choice. More than a year ago he committed to play football at the University of Alabama, but the NCAA Clearinghouse declared Hill a non-qualifier due to an online course he took at West Brunswick his senior year.

In a nutshell the defensive lineman is now headed the junior college route. Other than participating in August football practice at Alabama three months ago he hasn't played since November 2009.

Hill has personally met with two junior colleges: Itawamba Community College and East Mississippi Community College. He's expected to meet with three other JuCo football programs soon. Hill is likely to make a choice later this month. If all goes well he intends to transfer to a Division I football school after playing at the JuCo level.
