NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- It's out with the old and in with the new. New Hanover County Commissioner-elects Brian Berger and Rick Catlin have not been sworn in yet but they are already getting down to business.
Berger and Catlin joined county commissioners in their meeting Thursday night. The two are replacing long-time commissioners Bill Caster and Bobby Greer. Berger and Catlin have already been working alongside the commissioners to get caught up on many county issues. The two say they're looking forward to a new year with new ideas.
"Ready to get started," said Catlin. "I've been working on a lot of issues for a long time and particularly in the last month but this makes it official and we're ready to get going."
"I'm ready to make the sometimes tough decisions that are going to have to be made this year and the coming years," said Berger.
Berger and Catlin will be sworn in as county commissioners on Monday.
