Grand jury to decide 'Black Widow' fate

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The infamous black widow may soon be charged with a crime that lives up to her name. Brunswick County authorities say a grand jury is being convened in Oklahoma City to decide whether to indict Sandra Bridewell on murder charges. According to detectives, Oklahoma City Police want to indict Bridewell for the murder of her third husband, Alan Rehrig. Rehrig was found dead inside his car in 1985 from two gunshot wounds. Right now Bridewell is in the Pitt County jail facing federal charges on fraud and identity theft. Brunswick County detectives arrested Bridewell in March after she allegedly stole money and committed fraud against an elderly Brunswick County woman. Local deputies dropped their charges against Bridewell in lieu of the federal charges. Bridewell is expected to go to trial on her federal charges within the next 60 days. If she is indicted for murder in Oklahoma City she will be extradited there to face those charges.
